Introduction

Plug Screw Feeder is an important component in MDF/HDF wood panel plant. The plug screw feeder feeds chips continuously into a pressurized vessels above the refiner mill.

The screw feeder consists of a chip inlet, tapered compression zone, chip and drain outlet. The feed screw is journaled by oil-lubricated bearings, and driven by a frequency controlled DC motor via a foot-mounted gear reducer. The shaft is sealed with a stuffing box.

The plug screw feeder compresses the chips to:

1. Remove pitch, water and remaining air, without shortening fiber length

2. The highly compressed chips are discharged into the impregnator visa a blow-back piston.

3. The pressate is recycled back to the chip wash to maximize pulp yield

4. The screw is wasy to operate and needs very little maintenance.

The features of High wear resistant Screw Plug and Screw Pipe for Defibrators:

1. Casted by premium high alloy material, with surface hardening treatment and excellent wear resistance.

2. Optimize the design of structure to decrease the possibility of Block.

3. Optimize the reduction rate, ensure the dehydration.

4. High hardness up to 50-60HRC

5. No need to repair during performance, saving cost and increase production efficiency.

Material

Currently we supply two materials for the plug screw feeder according the different design request. High chrome material is with better performance. Due to high wear resistance and hard material, if the plug screw feeder is with complicated connections, we will recommend Cr13 for a better machining performance.
